Valentino x Gap...Here We Go Again!

Didn't get enough of Lanvin x H&M? How about Valentino x Gap?
This collection is more selectively distributed: Gap's new Milan store on Carso Vittorio Emanuele on 20th November onwards, Colette in Paris, two Gap stores in London (Oxford Street, Dover Street Market) on 27th November onwards.
If you are lucky enough to be in one of these cities, go NOW.

Chiuri and Piccioli  said: 'We love mixing different cultures and we have been excited to mix gap’s timeless essentials with our roman culture of Couture. It brings together the iconic world of Valentino and Gap's fashion staples, synthesizing the current trend of combining luxury with basics.'

Not the most wearable but definitely the most desirable.

Felder Felder

Came across goth-chic twins Annette and Daniela Felder's FELDER FELDER the other day. No wonder they have such a huge celebrity following, I love their play on feminine rock n roll !

Here are a few looks from Felder Felder SS11 Collection:

Epilogue: Lanvin x H&M...Now What?

What happens after you buy your Lanvin H&M? Do you brave the winds and wear it on a night out despite risking "double trouble" or store it until four years later?
Conclusion: you've just got to rock it and hope you look better than the 6 foot supermodel wearing the same dress next to you. Just feel fabulous in that dress; those oversized ruffles are magical.

Asians Can Look Good Blonde...if you're Ai Tominaga

It is the second season we have seen catwalk veteran Ai Tominaga blonde and I am loving every second of it!
SS11 Louis Vuitton
SS11 Reed Krakoff

FW10 Givenchy
FW10 Chanel

The only other Asian, in my opinion, who can truly pull off blonde hair is Daul Kim (R.I.P).

Both Ai and Daul have their natural charisma to add sophisticated cool and edge to a colour that tends to turn perfectly normal people exceptionally tawdry...as such (extreme comparisons to make my point):

What do you think?

Pendleton: Playing with Patterns

There's something very bewitching about Pendleton's Native American patterns.
Have a look at the Levi's Workwear by Pendleton collaboration:

Falling into Opening Ceremony team's radar after making some noise with the "classy hipsters", the textile company famous for its Native American blankets earned its most public stamp of cool with the Pendleton meets Opening Ceremony collection.

I have recently seen a lot of Pendleton scattered in some of my favourite vintage shops in Japan. Very excited to jazz up winter's dark palettes with my Pendleton buys.

Style, featuring Gaspard Ulliel

He is wanted.

He is a masculine boy. His imperfection makes him perfect. He played a soul-less killer and a profound artist.  He is most alluring when he is most disconnected. He is fashionable at his plainest.

He is Gaspard Ulliel.

Jean Paul Gaultier Leads the Game

I recently dug into the archives of fashion's "enfant terrible" Jean Paul Gaultier, and learnt what a true fashion pioneer means. Digging into his previous seasons' works, I saw his innovation being re-used on catwalks by some of the most famous designers today.

Here are the examples:

Maison Martin Margiela SS09 disguised model
Jean Paul Gaultier SS04 disguised model

Chanel SS10 Barn Theme with Flirty Play on Florals
Jean Paul Gaultier SS06 Barn Theme with Darker Play on Florals

Miu Miu SS10 Shirt-Collar Necklace
Jean Paul Gaultier SS01 Disengaged Shirt Collar

His collections may not have been picking up the most attention lately and there may have been occasions of recycled looks from the past, but within each season lies an innate Gaultier innovation that is reborn every six months.

I adore you too, Monsieur Gaultier.
